The Plaster Kitchen

A light-filled kitchen with a hand-troweled hood, honed marble and aged brass.

The Plaster Kitchen

The brief

A young family bought a house with good bones and no soul. They wanted rooms that felt gathered rather than decorated — warm, quiet, and impossible to date. We began with the light, and the plan followed.

Our approach

We reworked the plan around how they actually live, then layered a palette of lime plaster, unlacquered brass, white oak and washed linen. Every fixed material was chosen to patina; every loose piece was chosen to be kept.

The result

The result is a home that reads as collected over decades — soft underfoot, generous with daylight, and full of the small imperfections that make a room feel alive.
